Family Fishing With Tyler K.
“Gehrig is a special dude… He calls me and says, ‘Listen, I’m sending you and your family to Montana.’ He reached out to my wife at some point and put all of this together, kind of behind the scenes. He reached out to my buddy who’s out in Montana that I served with in the Marine Corps, and got everything communicated, and everything put together…
And I came away with such a—I just feel like I’ve been covered in peace…. I’m out here in Montana enjoying my family. It’s just been incredible.”
AN ELK HUNT WITH Tyler M.
“Elk hunting in Colorado became so much more than a hunt—it was healing, brotherhood, and a milestone I’ll never forget. With the support of Heartland Harbor Foundation, I harvested my first elk, but the real gift was the time shared with other veterans. We swapped stories, laughed through the cold mornings, and looked out for each other the way only service members do.
Standing in that quiet mountain air, I felt pride, gratitude, and a sense of peace I’d been searching for. Heartland Harbor Foundation made the opportunity possible, and the camaraderie made it unforgettable. I’m deeply thankful for both.”
Fly Fishing with Zach W.
“The trip was amazing. I didn’t realize how much I missed being back in the outdoors and being around people who understand where I’m coming from. The experiences on the trip were all new to me and gave me a new hobby!
The best part of it was the planning: I showed up, it was all taken care of, and organized to perfection. I’m grateful for the opportunity!”
