With the support of Heartland Harbor Foundation, I harvested my first elk, but the real gift was the time shared with other veterans. We swapped stories, laughed through the cold mornings, and looked out for each other the way only service members do.
Standing in that quiet mountain air, I felt pride, gratitude, and a sense of peace I’d been searching for. Heartland Harbor Foundation made the opportunity possible, and the camaraderie made it unforgettable. I’m deeply thankful for both.”
