Our Mission
What we do
Heartland Harbor Foundation creates opportunities for veterans and first responders (V/1Rs), and their families to reconnect through meaningful experiences in the outdoors. Whether it’s casting a line, sharing a blind, or simply sitting around the fire, these experiences offer space to learn, reflect, and rediscover a sense of purpose and community.
Better
Health
Spending just 120 minutes per week in nature is linked to improved health and well-being.
Increased
Connection
Veterans who engage in outdoor recreation report increased connection, confidence, and quality of life.
Reduced
Stress
Time spent in nature is helpful for managing depression, anxiety, PTSD symptoms, and loneliness.
