Heartland Harbor Foundation
The center of our movement is to provide a place of security for the healing of wounds for those who have safeguarded our country, whether domestic or abroad
Our Mission
Heartland Harbor Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting active duty military personnel, veterans, and first responders who suffer from traumatic brain injuries (TBI) and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Our mission is to provide therapeutic outdoor experiences centered around hunting, fostering stress relief, community building, and promoting self-sufficiency. By creating purpose-driven group settings, we aim to mitigate feelings of isolation and reduce the alarming rate of veteran suicide by fostering a strong sense of community among participants.
Who are we helping?
Veterans, active duty personnel, and first responders often face significant mental health challenges due to the traumatic experiences they encounter in their line of duty. TBI and PTSD are prevalent issues that can lead to a sense of isolation, depression, and, tragically, suicide. Conventional treatments may not always address their emotional and psychological needs adequately.
Vision
Heartland Harbor Foundation is committed to improving the mental health and well-being of our nation's heroes by leveraging the therapeutic benefits of outdoor activities, specifically hunting. We aim to create a supportive community where participants can engage in healing experiences, bond with peers, and learn skills to enhance self-sufficiency.
